Highlights

The Joint Cavern Development at Anderson Road Quarry Site is comprised of the Relocation of Public Works Central Laboratory and the construction of Government Records Service’s Archives. This entails building a cavern complex and adit connections of about 12,500 square meters inside the mountain body of Tai Sheung Kok, East Kowloon, within Strategic Cavern Areas (SCVA) no. 28 – Tai Sheung Tok and Anderson Road Quarry Development Site. The projected area of the proposed 3-storey Public Works Central Laboratory (PWCL) within the cavern is 6,000 sqm including 2,000 sqm in site area at the portal. The proposed 3-storey Archives Centre will occupy approximately around 6,500 sqm, while the 4-storey building located at the portal will cover roughly 2,000 sqm site area. The project involves construction of structural, foundation, building services and demolition of the existing Public Works Central Laboratory located in Kowloon Bay.
